DESCRIPTION:

The sole moon of Lau-Tem Pála, Stalbez is an icy moon dominated by a large frozen ocean. On the surface, frozen tundras are home to sparse life (like Aeroporos and Latanae Ursa). Stalbez was originally colonized by humanity for the rich deposits of rare metals covering the planet’s surface. Deep below the oceans of Stalbez live the Ogyr, an intelligent and docile aquatic species.

Directly after the Kemiiv worker’s liberation, Stalbez became the headquarters of the Unionist Resistance Army (later the Sovkós Union). During the Nepzerk revolution, Stalbez served as the base of operations for all Unionist liberation action throughout Deadstar. In 3097, at the height of the Nepzerk Revolution, the NTF launched an assault on Stalbez in an attempt to overthrow the fledgling Sovkós Union. Though they were overwhelming in their military might, their unfamiliarity with Stalbez’s harsh terrain in concert with Unionist fighters’ guerilla warfare tactics, they were forced to withdraw in 3100. Many also blame the NTF’s defeat on their split interests in both Stalbez and Kørt which divided their resources at critical junctures. 

After the war, Stalbez was rebuilt in the image of Unionist ideals with emphasis on creating unity between citizens and distributing prosperity to all. As the Sovkós Union grew and liberated territories across Deadstar, Stalbez grew, its influence felt throughout the system. The once quiet mining moon quickly became a popular location for refugees and expatriates as the doctrine of the Sovkós Union offered equality across species and social classes.
