DESCRIPTION:

Teaming with life of all kinds, Kørt is home to the largest genetic diversity of flora and fauna in Deadstar. Before the introduction of Humans, the militant monarchical Kotensurai Dynasty was the most dominant civilization on the planet, though the tribal Kynosaurs, the diverse and unified Vit-Maalese cultural hegemony, and isolationist Mantix societies also thrived in their respective habitats.

First contact on Kørt was made by colonists of the newly founded Æntezi Empire in 3037. The colonists aligned themselves with the mountain-dwelling Kotensurai, assisting them in their campaign to dominate the river/wetland habitating Vit-Maalese. After the Kotensurai secured the Logobadi region of Kørt, subjugating the Vit-Maalese natives, the Kotensurai established the Logobadi Imperial Dynasty – A continuation of Kotensurai Monarchal Dynasties of old, refurbished in the image of Æntezian influenced Hadiocracy. Æntezian military aid and political guidance solidified them as firm allies with the Kotensurai.

Because of its abundance of farmland and livestock, as well as Kørt’s central location in the system, any faction in control of the planet would hold a great deal of control in Deadstar. Seeing Kørt as a developing planet, capable of shaking up the system-wide power structure, the fledgling Nouvieux Trade Federation began formulating a plan to reform the fractured civ in the image of their ideals. This plan eventually culminated in the formation of the External Intelligence Agency (E.I.A), a counterintelligence agency designed to influence developing civs in favor of the Nouvieux Trade Federation. The E.I.A. collected information on the inhabitants of Kørt, spread propaganda in support of NTF intervention, and eventually manufactured the consent of the Vit-Maalese to allow for the NTF to establish the United Kørtisian Trade Alliance (UKTA) in Mong-Pho.

The UKTA was designed to pull influence away from the hadiocratic LID and the growing Unionist KUP (Kørtisian Unionist Party). The UKTA won the Kotensurai by offering exclusive trade deals and ensuring the preservation of the Kotensurai Dynasty in key locations on Kørt. Well-funded and well-armed, the NTF-backed UKTA far outpaced the KUP, its lone opposition party.

As the Sovkós Union grew to a major power in Deadstar, and the tenets of Unionism spread throughout the system, the NTF saw a potential threat in the once overlooked Kørtisian Unionist Party.  The UKTA attempted to oust the KUP from any positions of power in Mong-Pho, an effort that eventually  erupted in a decade-long war that would come to be known as the “Kørtisian Conflict.”
