DESCRIPTION:

The Commonwealth of the Sovkós Union is the banner under which all Unionist governments operate. The capital of the Sovkós Union is in Kemiiv, Stalbez. Sovkós controls movement and operation from the eastern hemisphere of Kørt (along the Chia-Tån Divide) to Wessek (the moon of Nymisto). This territory includes Lau-Tem Pála, Stalbez, and Wessek (and all associated orbiters). The guiding ethos of Sovkós is equality and opportunity through the distribution of resources, services, and support.

At first a development which naturally arose from miners forming collective advocacy groups, Unionism slowly became the dominant political and social ethos among workers across Deadstar. Armakism was a branch of Unionism created by Xeral Armak, an Avnaut social philosopher and miner on Lau-Tem Pála. Armak created a theory centered around the principle that workers in the chemical refineries of Lau-Tem Pála share the same struggle as the ice miners of Stalbez who themselves share the struggle of the Kemiivian city laborers: that all workers require protections, dignity, and representation as well as control over the devices of industry. Armak’s theories laid the groundwork for the Nepzerk Revolution (when workers on the extraction colonies of Lau-Tem Pála and Stalbez organized and seceded from the Nouvieux Trade Federation) and the eventual formation of the Sóvkos Union. Unionist states in Deadstar now control the largest reserves of resources and refining capacity, giving them major bargaining power with all of Deadstar.
