DESCRIPTION:

Nouveiuxism is the most popular social and political ideology in the core civs of Deadstar. While seperate Nouvieux civs have their own local governments, the overarching governing body under which all system-wide decisions are made is The Nouveiux Trade Federation (NTF), located in Gärbo. Nouvieux allies control movement and commerce from the western hemisphere of Kørt (along the Chia-Tån Divide) to Gärbo. This territory includes MORC, Liebirn, Gärbo, and Chameiro (and all proximal space). Due to its relative lack of raw industrial production and over-reliance on imported resources to sustain consumerism, Nouvieux society demands strength through overwhelming military power and system-wide financial dependance. The NTF has a strong standing military whose presence is felt wherever the NTF has spread its influence. All commerce in Nouvieux aligned territories is upheld by the Gärbo Central Bank (GCB).

When Hadiocracy was in its infancy on Æntez, some rejected what they saw as obvious tyranny and sought a new political system. Born out of the desire to preserve the status quo while also gesturing to civil liberties and social mobility, Nouvieux found its ideological roots in an amalgamation of preserved Earth “golden age” histories. Nouvieux thought leaders found a perfect candidate for their new social structure in the Gärbo Project. The first starcity to be constructed in Deadstar, Gärbo was meant to be the realization of Deadstar Humans’ greatest aspiration – to create a thriving society liberated from the limitation of natural planetary habitation. From its conception, Gärbo perfectly encapsulated the tenets of Nouvieux idealism; aspirational grandeur, preservation of perceived beauty and culture, and the promise of social mobility. 

While promises for unilateral freedom and equity never quite came to fruition, the overwhelming financial and political success of Gärbo garnered legitimacy and favour for the Nouvieux ideology. Nouvieux society grew to hold the maintenance of “free markets” and the private sector as its most essential tenant. This attracted more and more business and financial interest from across Deadstar. In the wake of the Nepzerk Revolution and the Unionization of Stalbez and Lau-Tem Pála, the Nouvieux realized the importance of building and maintaining a large standing military strength to prevent the spread of Unionist sentiment to their controlled territories. The escalation of violence eventually led to the bloody Kørtisian Conflict and the formation of Chia-Tån (the Divide) on the contentious planet Kørt.
