DESCRIPTION:

Kemiiv was originally founded as a mining colony and a space port to facilitate travel to and from Lau-Tem Pála, giving the city a strong working class labor culture. Inspired by the growing Nepzerk Revolution on Lau-Tem Pála, workers on Kemiiv joined the movement and fought to overthrow the corporate and Nouvieux entities controlling the city. 

During the NTF’s invasion of Stalbez, Kemiiv proved to be a contentious battleground. The city was nearly destroyed by the time NTF forces finally withdrew. When the Nepzerk Revolution ended, Kemiiv was rebuilt, now designed with Unionist aspirations. Massive public housing, transportation, and social services were integrated into the new Kemiiv. The population of the city and the scale of the infrastructure have exploded since the end of the Nepzerk Revolution. 

Kemiiz is situated on the coast of Belknath {bel-NATH}, the largest bay in Stalbez. The city features dense housing developments designed to increase energy efficiency and individual comfort. Kemiiv is known for its many advancements in urban infrastructure including: agro-cons (massive aquarium-like vessels containing algae-based colonies which clean the air and provide agriculture in the Stalbez tundra), SovMarts (small grocery stores which provide massive variety of low-cost food), the hydrotube (a large underground train system comprised of pill-like cars submersed in water utilizing hydroelectric power provided by Belknath Bay), and SovClinics (micro hospital units situated throughout the city to provide emergency care and affordable minor procedures).
