Founded by the Human Verity Project (HVP), MORC (Mobile Orbital Research Center), is the largest hub of for-profit scientific research in all of Deadstar. Home to over a dozen major companies and four prestigious universities, MORC is where the greatest breakthroughs in science are researched and monetized.

After the fall of the ISSC and the rise of the Æntezi Empire, large corporations sought security in an increasingly tumultuous system. While some invested in funding a more stable movement, Nouvieux, private interest was more focused on a plan to isolate themselves from the ebbs and flows of society. The answer came in the form of MORC. A proposal completely unattainable before, the arrival of the Enjineau and there starcity-supporting self-starting synthetic fusion core technology gave corporations a life raft.

MORC was constructed with the promise of propelling Humanity into the next step for a space-faring society. While MORC has certainly made breakthroughs in science, it’s difficult to argue that MORC did any more than propel Humanity into a new age of hyper-profiteering, called ”comp-sumerism” by unionist scholars.
