Nou Beverly is the cultural center of Nouvieux idealism. Constructed on the central ring of the Gärbo starcity, Nou Beverly was conceived as the soul of the Nouvieux cultural project. An idilic city that would exemplify Nouvieux aspirations and spread the promise of “the grand dream,” a core tenet of the political movement.

Nou Beverly is home to Deadstar’s largest entertainment industry, Nausiland — a loose title given to the concentration of film, television, broadcast, and public relation entities located in Nou Beverly. Nausiland represents a large portion of the NTF’s soft power throughout Deadstar, historically used as a propaganda apparatus spreading Nouvieux sentiment throughout the system. As the Nouvieux came into power it was a key strategy of the founders to recruit artists and focus their creative output through a Nouvieux lens. The NTF art industry has only continued to grow, now serving as a major piece of the NTF economy.

While Nou Beverly is dedicated to its proliferation of Nouvieux culture, the civ itself also serves as a piece of political art. Exorbitantly expensive, lavishly constructed, and filled with unrealistically beautiful people, Nou Beverly feels like an impossible place — and to many in Gärbo, it is. The average income in Nou Beverly is twice as high as San Kepla and ten times that of Knil, with property values, cost of living, and other expenses making Nou Beverly an unattainable goal for normal people on Gärbo. It may seem a fault that Nouvieux aspiration is so at odds with reality, but this is by design. The NTF maintains a vast market of workers reliant on the job market and a upperclass of wealthy elite who are able to control the levers of power in the system. The NTF offers representatives and a democratic government, but true power within a profiteer-centric system lies with those who hold wealth.

Though it represents the vast inequality inherent to the NTF, Nou Beverly is undeniably beautiful. In the residential areas white sand beaches have clear cool water lapping on their shores, the weather is consistent and temperate controlled, tropical plants harvested from Kørt line the streets, and colorful pastel buildings dot the cliffsides. The downtowns are filled with nightlife and leisure activities. Nou Beverly is a paradise, with a hefty pricetag.
