The Vit-Oko are a sub-species of the Vit-Maal. Vit-Maal communities span both above and below Kørt’s busiest waterways. Vit-Maal cities host diverse surface populations on the waterline, below the surface are elaborate underwater temples and infrastructure accessible only to the Vit-Maal. 

Vit-Maal society places importance on individual rights and equality. During the Kørtisian Conflict, the Vit-Maal fought with the support of the Sovkos Union, seeking independence from the imperialist Kotensurai dynasty.

Evolved to live on the banks of Kørt’s dangerous waterways, the Vit-Oko have evolved to hide in mud and foliage along riverbanks. The Vit-Oko, being amphibious, possess a thin, semipermeable membrane enabling them to absorb oxygen through their skin along with gills for breathing underwater. They resemble their Vit-Kada cousins in terms of color variation and fin distribution.
