While the Jiha Exchanges founders remain unknown, it is speculated that the marketplace began as an EIA project to infiltrate territories unreachable by legitimate NTF routes. It is known that the Jiha Exchange first appeared in KUP controlled Mong-Pho following the unionist government’s blockade on NTF goods.

The Jiha Exchange is currently the largest source of contraband in unionist-controlled territories, though the market operates at a lower profit in unionist territory due the immense expenses tied to smuggling.
