DESCRIPTION:

Deadstar’s de facto legislative body, the IKA controls the law throughout the system. Operating entirely  out of a massive spacestation, the IKA is composed of a litigation committee, a judicial council, and an executive oversight branch. The IKA acts as a neutral body that dispenses and enforces universal legislation in Deadstar. While the IKA  acts as a system-wide government in some regards, they typically defer to local leadership in legal matters. The IKA court is rarely used beyond the duties of expediently contracting, booking, and enforcing bounties on behalf of smaller governing bodies. While the IKA does permit deadly force by licensed Korsers when such actions are justified, the IKA itself does not deliver capital punishment. The IKA headquarters possess the largest operating detention center in Deadstar, though the IKA does not hold prisoners for extended sentences, only housing the accused until the finalization of their trial whereupon they are transported to the necessary locality or are released.
